On December 31, Guo Wenqing, China Minmetals' President and Deputy Party Group Secretary and MCC Chairman, visited Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Zijin") and held a meeting with Chen Jinghe, Prsident of Zijin, and exchanged ideas about further strengthening cooperation.
Guo Wenqing said that since the strategic restructuring of China Minmetals and MCC, China Minmetals has upheld the strategic goal of "quadrupling in three steps" and worked hard to build and reinforce a business system featured by "four beams and eight columns" consisting of metal mining, metallurgical engineering, trade, logistics, finances and the real estate, with an aim to building itself into a world-class metal mining group. In doing so, China Minmetals has embarked on a journey of high-quality development.
Guo Wenqing noted that Zijin had rich experience in self-management, lean management and cost control of overseas mines, and had many similarities with China Minmetals in metal mining. It is hoped that this meeting will further expand the space for cooperation in resource acquisition and integration, trade and logistics, and mine survey and design, enhance the level of cooperation and work together for a new landscape of coordinated development and win-win cooperation.
Chen Jinghe said that Zijin was committed to the national development strategies and valued the exploration and acquisition of mineral resources. At present, with an abundant reserve of mineral resources under management, Zijin is following a rapid development path and striving to rank itself among the world-class mining enterprises as early as possible. To this end, Zijin stands ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China Minmetals to draw on each other's strengths and achieve mutual benefits and win-win outcome.
This meeting was attended by Liu Caiming, China Minmetals' Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Party Group Member, Jiao Jian and Wang Shilei, both as China Minmetals' Vice President and Party Group Member, Lan Fusheng, Executive Director and Vice President of Zijin, Lin Hongfu, Executive Director and Executive Vice President of Zijin, Shen Shaoyang, Vice President of Zijin and Que Chaoyang, Vice President of Zijin. Participants of this meeting included relevant leaders from Zijin, including Wu Honghui, Jiang Kaixi, Zheng Youcheng, Lai Fuguang, Qiu Guozhu, Zhang Shunjin and Huang Weicheng and leaders of China Minmetals' head offices, directly-managed enterprises and affiliated enterprises, including Wang Jionghui, Xue Fei, Xu Jiqing, Zhang Shouxun, Gao Wujiu and Wang Jicheng.
