International Trade

International trade is Minmetals, Inc.’s core business. From the first day of establishment, Minmetals, Inc. has been committed to developing Sino-U.S. trade relations and expanding its business scope. With the help of China Minmetals Group's background in trading, Minmetals, Inc. has increased its presence in the U.S. markets of ferrous and rare earth products. The Company has developed strong working relationships with a large number of steel mills and mines in China and elsewhere in the world, who supply quality products. Minmetals, Inc.’s international trade operations cover many countries and regions, including the United States, Canada, Brazil, India, China, and European countries. Products include iron and steel (such as sheet and pipe), raw materials (such as iron ore, coal and coke), rare earth products (such as lanthanum oxide and praseodymium oxide), scrap metals (such as iron oxide scale, steel and aluminum scrap).

Crowne Plaza Wilmington North Hotel

The Crowne Plaza Wilmington North Hotel located in Claymont Delaware has been wholly owned by Minmetals, Inc. since 1992. Minmetals, Inc. funded a complete hotel renovation in 2012. The hotel now offers 193 newly renovated guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, three conference rooms and a banquet hall that accommodates up to 500 people. Crowne Plaza Wilmington North provides customers with high-quality conference, accommodation and catering services.

Huameida Aluminum Co., Ltd.

Minmetals, Inc. has been selling scrap metals to China since 2003 and gradually built up trading channels for scrap aluminum, which has become part of the Company’s core business. In 2005, Minmetals, Inc. acquired Humeida Aluminum Co. Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary located at Changshu, Jiangsu Province, China. From 2006 to 2009, Huameida revamped and expanded its existing secondary aluminum alloy production line to a production capacity of 50,000 tons of aluminum alloy ingots. Humeida’s alloy ingots became registered on the London Metal Exchange in 2010.
